At the start of the school year, we know many of you are excited to stay connected online. However, you need to be aware of the major changes to UK law regarding technology.

The government has introduced a total social media ban for anyone under 16. This means under-16s are legally restricted from having accounts on apps like TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, X, and Facebook. While messaging apps like WhatsApp operate under different rules, the days of under-16s casually making social media profiles are over.
