Mobile Phones
Croxley Danes School is one which heavily promotes the idea of limiting ‘Recreational Screen Time’ and monitoring of students’ internet use.
We enforce strict rules around mobile phone usage and students are not allowed to use their phones in school. Students need to turn off their mobile phone at the school gates before they enter the school grounds. Any student who is caught using their mobile phone will have their phone confiscated and will be set an after school detention.
We would like to encourage a technology, games and mobile ‘detox’ during the working week and to limit the use at weekends. Current guidelines produced by the UK Chief Medical officer suggest.
Leave mobile phones outside of bedrooms to ensure you get good quality sleep
Put phones away when you are outside, especially when crossing the road
Have screen-free mealtimes
Know the impact of sharing inappropriate images or messages
Restrict your screen time to no more than 2 hours at a time
Always be aware of what you are doing online
Make sure you know who to talk to if you are worried about online safety and cyber bullying.
Your parents, your form tutor and Miss Brun Orejas can all help you if you ask.
